Dog Pile

My friend Jodi's cats always end up on a "pile", sleeping on one another. That's always made me jealous. The closest thing to a pile I've gotten is a cat on my foot and a cat on my shoulder when I'm in bed. Then Heater comes along. On his second day here, my greyhound Gemini is sprawled out on the floor outside my bathroom waiting for me to get ready, just like every morning. I look out and Heater has laid down next to him and put his two front paws across Gemini's two front paws. I smiled and said "PILE" to myself, so I wouldn't disturb them. Then, I had to consult Jodi, the Pile Expert, to confirm. And she confirmed it was a PILE!!! YIPPEE! I didn't want to grab the camera, as I may have disturbed the pile.

So, Heater is settling in very quickly. He is such a sweet dog. As Laura, the previous foster mom suggested, I've been calling him "Heater Beater" which my friend Jodi quickly turned into "Heater Beater Pumpkin Eater"

I'll be posting some pictures soon!

From home to first foster

Update on Heater (f/k/a Buba) Heater was with us for a little over a month. He has had two "procedures" at Dr. Toby's. He had a major dental , loosing many teeth. He had another surgery to close a hole in his mouth where one tooth he lost actually left a fistula into his sinus cavity "ick" and he lost a toe at that time as well that had a tumor growing on it. He has healed wonderfully and endured a lot without any complaints (well except when we tried to change his toe bandage :-o ) . Fortunately he is on the mend and no longer needs a bandage.

Just this week he started playing with stuffy toys in the house. He's so cute when he gets excited. He settled in to our routine quickly. He stayed loose in the house when we were gone and slept in the bed room with us at night. He loves to go anywhere in the car! and loves to go for walks.

He has gone to a new foster mom (boo hoo) , and I miss him all ready. He is one of those dogs that just has to be with his people and I like those kind!! I know Christie will take good care of him and he will probably be happier with one other greyhound instead of 12 !! He always has a "back up" if he needs another place to go. I hope he finds his forever home soon.
