Heater has come back to SEGA after nine years with his adoptive family because they didn't want him anymore. It is their loss, because he is a lovely gentleman and a young 10. Laura fostered Heater nine years ago and remembered him because he's such a small male (about 53 pounds), so when she saw that he was being returned, she declared that we must foster him.
Heater's teeth were in terrible condition, so in he went to Dr. Toby for teeth cleaning. Some of his teeth had to be pulled, but now he feels much better and no longer has bad breath. He likes being with me, perhaps because it was the husband in his adoptive family who cared for him.
Tomorrow we will expose him to our cat and find out if he has mellowed from his prior intolerance of cats. We'll also let him run in our dog pasture and see if he'll chase a ball or frisbee.
Heater is a nice Greyhound and didn't deserve to be bounced from the family he lived with for nine years. We hope someone who wants an older dog who is still playful will give him the home he deserves to live out his life -- he still has a lot to offer.

What's Heater up to these days?
I saw Heater a couple of days ago and he has lost weight and looks great! Such a happy dog.
Hey, I'm interested in learning more about Heater.
